Who is Bike Logistics?
Bike Logistics is a family owned and run business servicing customers across Australia. Our Managing Director, Tony is a fully qualified motorcycle mechanic who branched out into the transport industry in 2008. Three years ago, Tony purchased Bike Logistics and has continued to grow the business. Now, almost 10 years later Tony is still on the road transporting motorcycles but the team has grown from a one man band to a team of highly skilled individuals who all share a common passion for motorcycles.
Our head office is based in Melbourne and we offer local transport across Melbourne and service many motorcycle shops in Melbourne including Peter Stevens Motorcycles, South East Motorcycles, Ghost Riders, Yamaha City, Brad The Bike Boy, Dynobike, BMW Melbourne...and this is just to name a few! Michael and Tony transport motorcycles throughout Melbourne every day and are well known for their professionalism and excellent customer service.
While the head office is in Melbourne, we also have a depot in Sydney (Arndell Park) and our local driver Tim, runs around Sydney shipping motorcycles within metro Sydney and NSW each and every day.
We also have Jon undertaking our transport in Brisbane with a depot in Clontarf and servicing Cold Coast, Cairns, Townsville, Gladstone, Rockhampton, Gympie, Bundaberg and all places in between!
We have our own vehicles that are specialised for motorbike shipping and are fully equipped to handle motorcycles. We run between Melbourne - Sydney - Brisbane each and every week and our legendary Interstate driver, Gary, has worked in the motorbike transport industry for many years, namely as a team driver in the World Superbike (WSBK) series in Europe.
If you have any questions, or would like to speak to our Director, Tony please call us in the office and we can arrange for him to speak with you to answer any of your questions!
How will Bike Logistics move my motorbike?
Our trucks and vehicles have been specially fitted out to transport motorcycles. Each vehicle is fitted out with specialised channeling on the base/floor of the vehicle that allows us to strap down the motorcycle which is tied does to this channeling.
Motorcycles are strapped only from axle points and we do not tie down from the handlebars which ensures no pressure is ever placed on the forks of the bike. We use 4-6 soft webbing ratchet straps on every motorcycle and tie down from the axle points or swing arm. Where we strap is entirely dependant on the make and model of the motorcycle but never from the handlebars. All our drivers are extensively trained on how to strap down motorcycles and what to look for on every motorcycle and what to avoid.
How is my motorbike collected and delivered to a door address?
Motorbikes are transported in fully enclosed vehicles that have been specifically fitted out for motorcycle only transport. Our interstate transport is generally in large motorbike carriers however access to residential suburbs, primarily in capital cities, is done in smaller vehicles such as specialised vans or 4.5t trucks. In some instances smaller open vehicles may be used but this is dependent on the circumstances of the motorcycle pickup (namely transport required for motorcycles with access restrictions).
Can other items travel with the bike?
In most instances, the answer is yes! We understand that a motorbike goes hand in hand with a helmet, jacket, gloves and in many instances parts and accessories. We are more than happy to take items, however they must be boxed or securely strapped to the seat of the motorcycle. Helmets, jackets and gloves strapped to the bike travel free of charge, however for parts and accessories we do apply a small charge depending on how large the box is. Generally for a 40x40x40cm box we charge around $40. Your best bet is to box the items and call or email us with the dimensions and we can give you the price. In some rare instances boxed items may not be able to travel with bikes (primarily when there are significant amounts of parts) but in this instance we can arrange to move them as freight. Please let us know your needs and we can work out a solution for you!
What is your warranty cover or insurance to transport my motorbike?
We have full insurance for all motorcycles we transport. This insurance cover is based on the market value of the motorcycle as determined by our insurer. Your motorcycle is insured from pickup to delivery and while loading and unloading. Our insurance does not cover items, parts or accessories that are transported with the motorcycle however we must note that the utmost care is taken by all our staff for boxed items and helmets. Our insurance does not cover any mechanical issues or flat batteries. We do not start motorcycles and cannot do a full mechanical assessment of every motorcycle at the time of collection. Insurance cover is for visual damage only or accidental damage sustain during transit. In some instances, Bike Logistics does utilise contract carriers. These contract carrier cover your motorbike with a transit warranty from pick up to delivery. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding the warranty cover or insurance please contact our office for more information.
How long will it take to deliver my motorbike?
Transit times depend on the locations for pickup and delivery and other factors including weather, roadworks, road closures and high versus low frequency routes. We have set weekly runs between Melbourne - Albury - Canberra - Sydney - Newcastle - Port Macquarie - Coffs Harbour - Gold Coast - Brisbane and return. We also transport fortnightly to and from Adelaide and weekly to and from Tasmania, Perth, Darwin and FNQ (Cairns, Rockhampton, Gladstone, Mackay etc).

While we meet our dates/scheduled on 98% of transport transit times may vary due to peak periods, acts of nature and backlogs etc. Please do not plan holidays, trips and meetings using estimated transit times.
Does my motorbike require fuel?
No, not really. All we require is that the motorcycle rolls and can be pushed. This means that the tyres are inflated and we have the keys or the steering is unlocked. We may start motorcycles to help us push them but if there's no fuel or your motorbike doesn't start, our drivers are more than experiences enough to push the motorcycle. If you have a larger cruiser or heavy motorcycle, that doesn't start we'd appreciate you letting us know and we'd appreciate a helping hand to give them a push!
