What a fabulous round we had this weekend at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. The Bike Logistics team transported over 20 motorcycles to the Island for the event. This was a mixture of factory transport for MV Agusta Australia and personal motorcycles for those who were flying into Melbourne from interstate and rode down to the Island.
There were fabulous crowds down at the Island, and the racing did not disappoint the WSBK fans. Reigning champion Jonathan Rea scored a double win in both race 1 and race 2 for the Kawasaki Racing Team. Chaz Davis finished second in race 1 on the Ducati 1199R while Michael van der Mark finished off the podium on the Honda Racing CBR1000RR.
Race 2 was closely fought with Michael van der Mark finishing second on the Honda CBR 1000RR and Davide Giuliano 3rd on the factory Ducati 1199R.
Now the cleanup begins, and we are still on the Island busily loading motorcycles to return them home. Overall it was a great weekend with some awesome racing and large crowds. Great for Aussie and world moto sport.
